After School Programs

Preparing Children for Success Beyond the Classroom

We’re proud to offer free and affordable after school programs to children and families across the Bronx.

We understand that the afterschool hours are a critical time for children to grow, explore, and develop new skills. Our program is designed to provide a safe, supportive, and enriching environment where children can continue their learning journey while having fun.

Our core curricula are professionally developed and aligned with the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and the National Council of Teachers of English standards.

Our Approach

4 Pillars of NIDC Afterschool Programming: These core areas aim to prepare children not only for academic success but also for a fulfilling future as confident, caring, and responsible leaders.

  • Literacy – strengthening academic skills in reading and other key subjects to ensure kids stay on track and grow their knowledge.

  • Social-Emotional Learning – helping children develop self-awareness, resilience, emotional intelligence, and relationship-building skills that are crucial for life

  • Civic Engagement – instilling in students the importance of community involvement, leadership, and advocacy through hands-on projects and service-learning opportunities.

  • Life Skills – encouraging healthy habits, teamwork, and community engagement through structured activities that will serve them beyond the classroom.

Whether it's academic support, creativity, or social-emotional growth, our free and affordable afterschool programs help kids succeed in all areas of life.
