Future Doctors in the Making at PS 96!

What do you want to be when you grow up? For students at PS 96, the possibilities were endless during a special day dedicated to exploring careers in medicine!

On October 19, 2026, Neighborhood Initiatives Development Corporation (NIDC), in partnership with Einstein, hosted a Doctor Fair Day for students in kindergarten through fifth grade. The event welcomed 166 attendees, including 148 children and 18 adults, for an afternoon of learning, discovery, and hands-on activities.

With the help of three Einstein interns and NIDC program specialists, students explored different medical specialties, including orthopedics, pediatrics, and ophthalmology. Interactive stations also introduced students to how the heart functions and what happens in an emergency room.

Throughout the event, students enthusiastically participated in activities, explored miniature medical props, and received educational takeaways. The experience helped young learners better understand the important roles medical professionals play in keeping communities healthy.

One of the most memorable parts of the day was the students' contribution to the event decorations! Children drew pictures of themselves as doctors and shared which type of doctor they hoped to become when they grew up, bringing their future career dreams to life through creativity and imagination.

The event received positive feedback from the participating Einstein interns, who were delighted to see how engaged and excited the students were throughout the experience.

NIDC thanks Einstein, our dedicated program specialists, and everyone who helped make Doctor Fair Day an exciting opportunity for students to learn, dream big, and explore their future possibilities!
