Healthy habits start young! On October 7, 2026, Neighborhood Initiatives Development Corporation (NIDC), in partnership with Montefiore, hosted an interactive skincare education workshop for fifth-grade students at PS 96.
The workshop welcomed 36 attendees, including 25 children and 11 adults, for an afternoon focused on understanding skin health and learning how to make informed skincare choices.
Throughout the session, students participated in engaging, hands-on activities designed to explore how everyday products and environmental factors can affect their skin. They learned about the importance of protecting their skin, recognizing potentially harmful ingredients and influences, and developing healthy skincare habits.
The interactive activities encouraged students to ask questions, explore new ideas, and better understand how to care for their skin as they grow. By making the experience both educational and enjoyable, the workshop helped introduce important self-care concepts in an age-appropriate setting.
The event was a success, with students having fun while gaining valuable knowledge they can apply to their everyday routines.
NIDC thanks Montefiore for partnering with us to provide this educational experience and helping our young learners build healthier habits for the future!
