NIDC Joins Community Partners for The People’s Money Appreciation Breakfast
NIDC’s Community Engagement team joined community partners from across New York City on August 13 for a Partner Appreciation Breakfast hosted by the NYC Civic Engagement Commission (CEC), celebrating the organizations and individuals who helped support this year’s phase of The People’s Money.
As a TRIE partner with the CEC, NIDC works alongside a broad network of community organizations, implementing partners, city agencies, and individuals to help strengthen civic engagement and connect communities with opportunities to participate in the city’s participatory budgeting process.
The breakfast brought together approximately 75 adult partners and five children for a morning of networking, celebration, and connection. Partners had the opportunity to reconnect with colleagues, meet new organizations, and celebrate the collective work that goes into making The People’s Money possible. Awards were also presented to participating partners in recognition of their contributions during this year’s phase.
For NIDC, the gathering provided an opportunity to strengthen existing relationships while connecting with potential new partners. The team particularly valued the opportunity to explore new connections and resources that can support NIDC’s expanding housing partnership work in Brooklyn.
The morning also featured breakfast catered by Salsa Caterers, creating a welcoming setting for partners to connect and share ideas beyond their day-to-day work.
NIDC appreciates the opportunity to work alongside the CEC and fellow community partners to support civic participation and bring resources and opportunities closer to the communities we serve. Events like this highlight the importance of collaboration and the relationships that help make community-centered work possible.
