Celebrating Young Scientists at the PS 483 Science Share

On May 2, 2025, the PS 483 cafeteria transformed into a vibrant hub of innovation and curiosity as more than 30 students from both the school and NIDC’s after-school program proudly presented their projects at the annual Science Share.

The event, hosted in partnership with ExpandED STEM Academy and PS 483 – The Matilda Avenue School, highlighted student-led experiments and demonstrations that showcased the power of hands-on science learning.

Families, teachers, and fellow students were invited to explore a wide range of projects, from inventive problem-solving prototypes to fascinating chemical reactions. The event spanned Thursday evening and continued into Friday morning, ensuring everyone had a chance to engage with the budding scientists.

In a special boost for STEM education, ExpandED98 awarded NIDC a $1,650 grant to support this initiative. The funds helped enhance STEM learning opportunities and underscored the importance of community-driven, youth-centered education.

The Science Share wasn’t just a showcase… it was a celebration of curiosity, creativity, and the power of learning together. We’re proud of our young scientists and look forward to seeing where their curiosity leads next!
