Celebrating Community at the Older Adult Valentine Party

On February 5th, 2026, NIDC joined older adults at the Older Adult Valentine Party held at 190 Hollywood Avenue. The event, hosted by Catholic Charities Community Services and Throggs Neck Community Alliance, brought seniors together for an afternoon of connection, celebration, and community support.

While the gathering offered a festive Valentine’s atmosphere, it also created space to share information about resources available to older adults throughout the Bronx. NIDC was proud to be present and engage with attendees about the social services and support programs we provide, helping seniors better understand how to navigate community resources and access assistance when needed.

Throughout the afternoon, seniors connected with staff, asked thoughtful questions, and expressed appreciation for having direct access to information in a welcoming and joyful setting. The positive reactions reinforced the importance of partnerships that bring services directly into community spaces.
