Paws, Pose and Slay the Runway: A Tail-Wagging Celebration of Style and Civic Pride
On a sunny Saturday afternoon, Walter Gladwin Park transformed into a vibrant runway of paws and personality for “Paws, Pose and Slay the Runway,” a doggie fashion show hosted by NIDC’s Economic Development department in partnership with Dogs of Mott Haven.
From 12 to 2 p.m. on June 28, 2025, the park buzzed with excitement as 50 adults and 10 children gathered to cheer on their favorite four-legged models. Local pet owners brought their A-game, dressing their dogs in everything from superhero capes and sparkly tutus to themed costumes that had the crowd smiling from ear to ear.
But this wasn’t just about adorable outfits and photo ops. The event carried an important message: responsible pet ownership. Throughout the park, signs and announcements reminded attendees to “curb your dog,” reinforcing the importance of keeping our sidewalks clean and welcoming for everyone.
The blend of fun and education made for a memorable afternoon that celebrated community, creativity, and civic responsibility. “Paws, Pose and Slay the Runway” wasn’t just a fashion show—it was a joyful reminder of how small actions, like picking up after our pets, can make a big difference in our neighborhoods.
