NIDC’s Award Winning Cheer Team at the
Big Picture Leadership Summit
On January 26, 2026, youth from the PS/MS 89 NIDC Cheer Team took the stage at the Big Picture Leadership Summit National Conference, proudly showcasing the results of a year filled with hard work, teamwork, and growth.
The goal of this event was to highlight what the PS/MS 89 NIDC Cheer Team has accomplished through NIDC’s youth programming throughout the school year. Through their national routine, the team demonstrated commitment, dedication, discipline, and leadership, both on and off the mat. Their performance reflected countless hours of practice and a shared determination to succeed together.
Held at the Apollo stages at the Victoria, the performance brought together youth, families, and supporters to celebrate the team’s journey. The cheerleaders performed with confidence and enthusiasm, representing their school while also highlighting the strength and impact of NIDC’s youth programming within the community.
Located in the Williamsbridge neighborhood of the Bronx, PS/MS 89 is known for its warm, student-centered environment where curiosity, creativity, and confidence are encouraged from an early age. Guided by dedicated educators and a supportive community, students are empowered to take risks, connect learning to real-world experiences, and see themselves as capable leaders.
