Building Connection and Goals Through Family Vision Board Workshop
Families gathered at PS/MS 89 for a meaningful and creative experience during the Family Vision Board Workshop, designed to encourage reflection, goal setting, and connection.
Led by NIDC’s Community Engagement Director, Jessica Toro, the workshop introduced families to the concept of vision boarding as a way to plan for the year ahead. Parents and children worked together to create boards that reflected their goals, aspirations, and shared values.
Beyond the creative process, the workshop provided an opportunity for families to connect with one another in a supportive and welcoming environment. As each family presented their vision boards, participants were able to share their ideas, celebrate their goals, and build a sense of community.
The event also introduced families to NIDC’s Family Support Network and Community Engagement services, with Social Worker Onleilove Alston providing an overview of available resources and support.
Experiences like the Family Vision Board Workshop highlight the importance of creating spaces where families can reflect, connect, and plan together. By combining creativity with goal setting, NIDC continues to support families in building strong foundations for the future.
