Connecting Residents to Housing Resources and Support

On May 19, 2026, NIDC partnered with NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) and a network of community organizations to host a Housing Resource Fair at Bronx House.

The event brought together tenants, homeowners, housing advocates, legal service providers, and city agencies to ensure residents had access to reliable information about housing rights, resources, and support services.

Throughout the evening, attendees visited information tables hosted by organizations including HPD, Bronx Defenders, The Legal Aid Society, Homes and Community Renewal, Department of Buildings, Department of Finance, FDNY, DSNY, and several additional community partners.

Residents had the opportunity to ask questions, learn about available programs, and connect directly with experts who could help them better understand their rights and responsibilities as tenants and homeowners.

Access to accurate information is an important part of housing stability. Events like this help empower residents to make informed decisions, navigate challenges, and connect with resources designed to support safe and stable housing.

Through partnerships with agencies and community organizations, NIDC remains committed to helping Bronx residents access the tools and information they need to strengthen their households and communities.
