NIDC supports Bronx 49th Precinct and National Night out against crime
On Tuesday, August 5th, the 49th Precinct, Precinct Community Council and NIDC celebrated a successful National Night Out Against Crime at Loreto Park in the Morris Park Community, bringing together the Police and the Community to encourage better communication and support.
Over 1,500 community residents attended and 39 Borough-wide organizations participated in the event, including the Allerton and Morris Park Public Libraries, NYC Commission on Human Rights, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Grand Street Settlement and so many more.
Food and refreshments were provided as well as games for children and DJ music.
Awards were given to community leaders and outstanding Police Officers. The day also included a special heartfelt farewell to an amazing Commanding Officer, Deputy Inspector Tawee Theanthong.
Thanks to the enthusiastic community participation and high attendance, this year’s event was one of the best ever!
