Connecting and empowering tenants & neighbors: Resource Fair, Sip & Paint

In July, the members of our Housing team at NIDC reached out and connected with Bronx neighbors and tenants in both informative and fun ways!

FIrst, we joined Council Member Amanda Farias, NYC Department of Housing Preservation & Development, and many other local organizations at the Tenants Resource Fair at Parkchester Library on July 23rd. There NIDC was able to offer resources and information to attendees, educate tenants on housing rights and connect with other nonprofits and city agencies.

For something completely different – NIDC launched a new engagement program at Hoe Avenue - Sip and Paint! This inaugural event on July 31 was a small and joyful gathering where neighbors were able to both foster their creativity and build community spirit while making art for their homes.
