NIDC Expands COMPASS Afterschool Opportunities for Bronx Students and Families

NIDC is excited to announce the continued growth of our COMPASS Afterschool Program for the upcoming school year.

We are proud to continue serving students and families at PS 96, PS 89, and MS 89. We are also excited to once again serve the PS 105 community and thrilled to welcome PS 121 as a brand-new COMPASS site. This expansion will allow NIDC to bring free afterschool opportunities to even more Bronx students and families while continuing to build meaningful relationships within our school communities.

Funded through the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD), the COMPASS program provides young people with access to enriching afterschool experiences that support academic achievement, personal growth, and social development.

At NIDC, we believe afterschool programming is about more than what happens after the school day ends. These programs create safe and supportive spaces where students can build confidence, explore new interests, strengthen friendships, receive academic support, and connect with caring mentors who encourage their success.

Through NIDC's COMPASS programs, participants engage in educational, recreational, and creative activities that foster leadership, self-expression, and community connection in a welcoming environment.

As our Youth Programs continue to grow, so does our commitment to supporting Bronx youth and families through meaningful, community-centered experiences that help students thrive both inside and outside of school.

We are grateful for the continued partnership of our schools, families, staff, and community members, as well as the support of DYCD, which helps make these opportunities possible.

Together, we are continuing to build brighter futures for the next generation.
