Eco-Fest 2025: Growing Green, Together

On June 4, PS 483 came alive with the spirit of sustainability as students, families, and community partners gathered for Eco-Fest 2025, a celebration of environmental stewardship, creativity, and community pride.

Over the past several weeks, students in the afterschool gardening program have been hard at work cultivating the schoolyard garden. Eco-Fest gave them a chance to show off their efforts. The event also featured impressive showcases from our Digital Marketing and Robotics programs, highlighting the innovation and teamwork our youth have developed throughout the school year.

Families explored engaging educational booths hosted by Cookshop by Foodbank, the Department of Sustainability, and NIDC, all offering hands-on activities and resources to inspire greener living.

One of the day’s sweetest moments came courtesy of our kitchen staff, who generously donated fresh fruit for families to take home. And the afternoon wrapped with excitement as the PS 483 cheer team delivered a showstopping performance at 4:30 PM!

Events like Eco-Fest are a powerful reminder of what’s possible when we nurture both our environment and our young people. Thank you to all our partners, staff, students, and families for making this event a vibrant success!
