NIDC Youth Programs Encourage Creativity at Wonder Bear Workshop

NIDC’s Youth Programs gave students at PS/MS 89 an opportunity to get creative and make something of their very own during a special Wonder Bear Workshop on July 10.

The hands-on workshop welcomed 120 students for an afternoon centered on creativity, imagination, and self-expression. Each student had the opportunity to create and personalize their own teddy bear, turning a simple workshop into a memorable experience they could carry home with them.

Students took part in the process from start to finish, stuffing their bears and adding their own personal touches. The activity gave each child the freedom to create something that reflected their individual personality and imagination.

Beyond the finished keepsake, the workshop provided students with an engaging opportunity to participate in a creative activity alongside their peers. Hands-on experiences like this encourage young people to explore their creativity while building confidence in expressing themselves.

By the end of the workshop, every student had a personalized teddy bear to take home—a lasting reminder of an afternoon spent creating, imagining, and having fun together.
